Welcome Party
1 Objective of the Party: Welcome party is a special event for all new residents in Tsukuba city. The aim of this party is to welcome the new residents in Tsukuba city and try to help and support them in starting their new life. It also allows them to get them acquainted with the Japanese culture and traditions. Furthermore, this welcome party is an opportunity for social gathering.
2 Tasks : The party was held in Tsukuba Mosque on April 22, 2006 after the Isha prayer. The welcome address was given by the Dr. Shamsul Haque President of EC TSUMRA. In his speech, he first presented TSUMRA, then he invited new comers to join TSUMRA mailing list and introduce halal food service. Also a booklet presenting detailed TSUMRA activities was distributed. After that, new comers have introduced themselves and their activities. The food party then started. Food from all over the Islamic world was brought by Muslim brothers as well as prepared by TSUMRA. The food party was an opportunity to the participants to engage in discussions in various topics.
2.1 Schedule
- Gathering after Isha prayer
- Welcome speech.
- New comers self-introduction
- Food party discussion.
- Closing remarks.
3 Conclusion: Additionally to the experience the new comers got from former brothers, new members could acquire with the help of the executive committee the essential furnitures for their accommodations. Most of this furniture was gift from foreign and Japanese Muslim volunteers. But more importantly, attendees have enjoyed the spirit of gathering and friendship.
Celebration of Eid
1 Objective of the Celebration Eid Ul fitr is an important event for Muslims. It is one of the two religious bairams in Islam. The celebration of this event is an opportunity for social gathering and joy sharing among Muslims.
2 Description Eid ulfitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawal, the tenth month in the Islamic calender. This event celebrates the accomplishment by Muslims of one of the most important Islamic rituals, which is the fast of the month of Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calender. Muslims express their happiness on this day by meeting, visiting each other and giving gifts to children.
The celebration took place in the Tsukuba Masjid on December 6th, 2002. The ceremony began early in the morning, where Muslims from all Ibaraki prefecture gathered in the Masjid waiting for the prayer of Eid and making extolement and glorification of Allah according to the tradition of the Prophet Salla Allah Aleyhi Wa Sallam. After the prayer of Eid, a sermon was given, in which the Imam gave general advice to all the audience and urged them to hold to their religion. After the end of the sermon, a special party was organized, where Muslims had the opportunity to congratulate each other, and where children could play and enjoy the gifts distributed among them.

Abu Hurairah (RA) Said: Rasulu-Allah (SAW) said, "Whoever seeks out a path in search of knowledge (of Deen), Allah will make for him from that path an easy path to Jannah and Whoever persons assemble in one of the Mosques of Allah, recite the Quran and study it among themselves, There will descend upon them tranquillity, mercy will cover them, the angels will surround them and Allah will mention them in the presence of those near Him”.
